It was in 2007 after all that a lone gun man walked into the Blacksburg, VA Tech school and opened fire killing thirty-two innocents. And it was in 2012 that a man shot and killed thirty-two youngsters along with six teachers in the now infamous Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT. Then in early September of 2016, a female student at the Alpine High in Brewster, TX shot and injured one student before committing suicide with the very same gun. No wonder educational centers across the country take the recommended security procedures extremely seriously. The lock-down procedure has been instituted as a safety procedure for every school, regardless of location. Just as the fire drill is standard, the school lock-down drill is conducted at two or three junctures throughout each year. Below, the lock-down drill process is highlighted.
